My Treo now has dead pixels…

I keep it in a holster, and last night it snagged on something and fell. It looked okay, but later in the night I noticed some bright orange pixels. Oh well, I thought, I can live with that. Unfortunately this morning it looks like there are more of them. Crap.

I wanted to wait for the Treo 700p, but now it sounds like it may not be out till May. If my phone craps out in the mean time, I guess I’ll buy a replacement 600 from Ebay. They run about $200.

G4-optimized Firefox Build

I know I have some mac-users on my reading list. If you use a mac with a G4 processor (and you probably do) you should go here and download a special build of Firefox that’s optimized for your processor. I was skeptical, but it seems a lot zippier for me after using it all day.

The Page is Too Stupid

I got this error page trying to download a WordPress plugin today. Beautiful.

The page you are looking for is currently too stupid. The Web site might be experiencing idiot writers, or you may need to adjust your browser settings to accept more retarded objects.

One of the better error pages I’ve seen. In case they fix the page, here’s a printout of the page (PDF).

New FeedBurner setup and location move

Today I created a FeedBurner account and did a bunch of tricky configuration hacks to make it so that most of you should now be getting updates through the new feed.  If you want to subscribe to the correct location it’s http://feeds.feedburner.com/virtuallyshocking; In a way, I’m perfectly happy for you to keep using whatever feed you have now. That way, if I ever want to move away from feedburner, I shouldn’t have much trouble.

I added a link on the sidebar today so that people can easily add my feed to their LiveJournal friends list. This is, I think, where most of my readers are.

I also moved the actual site files around on the webserver to a more sensible location, and you shouldn’t see any difference, but let me know if you run into problems.
